This post is more of a crafty update to what I’ve been doing but I hope you can find some inspiration in it too!. Just lately I’ve been lucky enough to get back into watercolour painting…
I used to do a lot of painting years ago so it’s been just wonderful to get back into it. I had forgotten what a joy it is to just sit and paint. There’s never an excuse needed to do some creative watercolour painting or any crafty activity for that matter, but this I especially enjoyed.Continue Reading
Just lately I’ve really been able to get back into painting again. I used to paint a lot years ago and really enjoyed painting just for the joy of doing it. I’ve been lucky to have some time recently to get back into it and I’d like to share a few new things I’ve been doing.
I’d like to show you this little gift frame set I made for a friend. Now with my own toddler who’s now three, a lot of my friends are also having babies too. What better gift for a friend with a newborn than some handmade nursery decor? For this gift set I painted a cute little baby lion character holding a ‘bloon. Who doesn’t love baby animals and bloons?Continue Reading

I’d like to share a creative way to showcase your handmade items and products, a way that really draws your audience in to click on your product, hopefully resulting in a sale.
I’ve found that this technique really helps to draw your potential buyers into to clicking on your product. By spending a bit of time creating a ‘hero’ image for your product you can help to encourage your audience to click and invite them for a better look. This technique assumes you’re able to use Photoshop or some other graphic editing software. If you’re not good with that sort of thing then I would be more than happy to help you.Continue Reading
I’ve been having a lot of fun this weekend trying my hand at some creative string art. String art has definitely made a resurgence in the craft scene recently, so after creating a comic book inspired piece I wanted to show you how I did it.
String art is super cool, loads of fun, and always looks amazing as long as it’s executed properly. Read on because I’m going to show you some new techniques and best practices while we make an awesome marvel character inspired design.

This week we’re experimenting with new techniques (how exciting!) Read on for my process on how I created this engraved and burnt house number.
I’ve always loved how engraving looks. It’s like the equivalent of debossing on paper but for solid materials. We’ve always had the means to do it but I thought I would try it, with our Dremel multi-tool, to see what results were possible by hand! I created this simple house number using a combination of engraving & burning. Read on to see how I did it! Hopefully you’ll find something useful in this post!
This year my husband and I will be celebrating our 3 year wedding anniversary. Looking back through the photos is always great fun and amazing to see quite how much we did ourselves! In this post I just wanted to share how getting creative and going for a DIY Wedding saved us well over £1500!
We opted for a vintage themed DIY wedding, but not traditional vintage, more of a nod to that type of style. For us the whole theme we felt should be something that resonated with us as a couple and something we found endearing. ‘The Owl & The Pussycat’ poem by Edward lear was perfect. It’s a poem we both loved and we found it had multiple meanings relevant to us. Continue Reading
